CRS 325 Single-Topic Speeches – Professor Dunagan's Website!

CRS 325 students will present a single-topic speech for each of the speech genres – celebratory, informative, and persuasive. These single-topic speeches will be made one week before the same genre speech is given by students where the topic is chosen by them. Here are the dates and the topic for each of the speech genres:

Celebratory: February 11 (Week 5) – The United States will celebrate its 250^th anniversary of independence from England this year. Create a 3-minute speech that acknowledges this milestone.
Informative: March 2 (Week 8) – TikTok has become a powerful social media platform for a growing number of people. Create a 3-minute speech that explains the basics of how TikTok works (avoid advocating for or against or comparing it to other platforms)
Persuasive: April 1 (Week 11) – “Pay for Play” has now become a reality for many athletes at SU. Create a 3-minute speech where you advocate either for or against compensating college athletes.
